For every IB Diploma student, results day is more than a collection of numbers. It is the culmination of two years of curiosity, perseverance, late nights, ambitious goals, and personal growth. At the International School of Bucharest (ISB), the May 2026 IB Diploma Programme results once again tell a story of excellence, one that reflects not only academic success but also the strength of a community committed to helping every student thrive.
This year, ISB's top score reached an outstanding 44 out of 45 points, with four students achieving 40+ points, 18 students scoring 35+, and 29 students earning 30 or more points. The school average of 33.0 points stands well above the global IB Diploma average of approximately 30.6 points for the May 2026 examination session, continuing ISB's tradition of academic excellence and consistently strong performance. These achievements are not isolated successes, they are part of a sustained record of outstanding results. Over the past three years, ISB students have earned two perfect IB scores of 45/45, while 17 students have achieved exceptional results of 40 points or higher. This remarkable consistency reflects the dedication of our students, the expertise of our teachers, and a learning environment that encourages every learner to reach their full potential. The results also open doors to some of the world's most prestigious universities. In recent years, ISB graduates have gone on to study at institutions including the University of Oxford, Sorbonne University, Cornell University, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), University College London (UCL), King's College London and many other leading universities across Europe, North America, Asia and beyond. Among this year's graduates is Giorgio S., who scored 44/45p and will continue his academic journey at the University of Oxford. Reflecting on his 13 years at ISB, he shared:
"After spending 13 years at this school, it's hard to put into words how much it has meant to me. Looking back, I realise that what made my experience so special wasn't just the academics, but the people and the environment around me. My teachers always went above and beyond, giving their time, energy and support whenever I needed it and I'm incredibly grateful for everything they've done. Football was also a huge part of my school life. Some of my best memories came from representing the school, training with friends and creating memories I'll always look back on. As I move on to Oxford, I'll carry with me the values, friendships and lessons this school has given me. I'll always be proud to have been part of this community and I'm excited to see what the future holds."
