Study: 86% of Romanians believe air in their homes is clean
Many respondents reported symptoms commonly associated with poor indoor air even as they continue to view their homes as safe environments.

Some 86% of Romanians believe the air inside their homes is as clean as or cleaner than outdoor air, according to the 2026 Romanian Home Air Barometer published by Ecovent. However, 43% of respondents reported allergies, respiratory problems, skin irritation, poor sleep, fatigue, or headaches.
The study was conducted by MKOR Consulting at the initiative of ventilation systems company Ecovent. It measures people’s perceptions and reported behavior rather than physical air quality, as no carbon dioxide, humidity, or particulate measurements were performed in respondents’ homes.
